Climate change

Climate change has been described by the government’s chief scientist as “the biggest challenge our civilisation has ever had to face up to”. It is likely to have large-scale environmental, social and economic impacts.

But whilst the threat of climate change is real, it is vital that we don’t retreat into hopelessness or feel disempowered by the scale of the problem.

The small actions we take – switching off lights, leaving the car at home etc – may not seem much, but added together with the actions of millions of others they can make a difference. As Mahatma Ghandi said “Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it.”
