As you can see from the energy-awareness presentation there are lots of simple things you can do to save energy at home, ranging from turning your lights off when you leave a room to insulating your loft or cavity walls.

Not only will you be doing your bit to help prevent climate change you will also see a difference in your pocket. The average household could save up to £300 a year on energy bills by being more energy efficient.

Keep the warmth in the areas where it’s wanted

Keep the warmth in the areas where it’s wanted. Certain parts of buildings – e.g. foyers, storerooms corridors - don’t need to be kept as warm as others. The trick is to keep the warm air where it is needed, and prevent it escaping into areas where it isn’t. Modern heating systems can heat various parts of a building differently, and shutting doors will also help.
